Mr. Alexander J. “A.J.” Pecoraro, 74, of Franklin Twp. passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, August, 13, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Hospice.
Alex was born on October 19, 1943 in Ellwood City to the late Alex D. and Florence (Totera) Pecoraro. For many years he worked as a barber with his father at Alex’s Barber Shop on Fifth St. in Ellwood City and later at Harry’s Barber Shop in Ellport. He also worked at Matthews Conveyor from 1965 until its closing, and was the owner/operator of AJ’s TV repair service, and later as a certified welding field inspector with TRC Engineers. Alex was known as “Pap Pap” to his grandchildren and great-grandchild whom he was lovingly devoted to.
Alex is survived by his wife, Betty (Godsen) Pecoraro whom he married in 1964, his daughters, Barb Pecoraro of Franklin Twp. and Karin (Glenn) Zahn of Patterson Twp. his son, Rick (Dora) Pecoraro of Mt. Lebanon, his grandchildren, Alex J. Pecoraro, Aiden Pecoraro, Elizabeth Zahn, and Alexis Zahn, and his great-grandson, Ashton J. Pecoraro. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Ann Szabo of Franklin Twp..
He was preceded in death by his parents, his special aunt and uncle, Mary and Victor Pecoraro, and his brother, Alexander Dominic Pecoraro in infancy.
The family would like to thank the Good Samaritan Hospice for the wonderful care that they extended to Alex.
As per Alex’s wishes there will not be a public visitation or service. The funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services.
