Mrs. Beverly J. McDevitt, 89, of Perry Twp. passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Beaver.
Mrs. McDevitt was born in Ellwood City on October 30, 1931 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Ken Ketterer. She is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1949 and the Wurtemburg Presbyterian Church. Beverly also belonged to the Wurtemburg Perry Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. A homemaker, she enjoyed quilting, crocheting, reading, and going to the family camp at Lake Chautauqua.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail Nelson of McCandless, son, Mark (Christine) McDevitt of Wayne Twp., grandchildren, Carol (Benjamin) Richert, Lauren (Myron) Chappell, Ross McDevitt, Leslie (Jimmy) Kessler, Brianna (Ethan) Patterson, and Ryan (Janelle) Kingston, and great-grandchildren, Bailey Chappell, Tessa Chappell, Tucker Chappell, Ava Kessler, Isabella Kessler, and Beckham Kingston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Alberta (Clark) Ketterer, husband, Thomas McDevitt whom she married on June 21, 1952, step-sisters, Pat Cairns and Jenny Wilson, step-brother, Don Clark, daughter-in-law, Toni Ann McDevitt, and son-in-law, Dave Burton.
Due to COVID-19, a private visitation and service will be held for Beverly’s family on Saturday at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. with Rev. R. Tod Custer officiating. Interment will follow at the Wurtemburg Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. McDevitt’s name may be made to the Ellwood City Area Public Library or to the Wurtemburg Perry Volunteer Fire Department.
