David L. Michels Jr., 64 of Ellwood City passed away on Friday, June 2nd, 2023 at the Butler Memorial Hospital.
David was born on September 17th, 1958 in New Castle to the late David L. and Norma (Shaffer) Michels Sr.. He attended Laurel High School and Vo-Tech of Lawrence County. He worked for Burrelli’s in New Castle, and then for McElwain Motors in Ellwood City as an auto mechanic. David most recently was the owner and operator of Dave Michels’ Garage where he did major and minor car repairs. He enjoyed motorcycles, especially Harley Davidsons.
He is survived by his sisters, Ann (Steve) Zemko, Brenda (Dan) Diana both of Slippery Rock Township, and Tricia (John) Vose of North Carolina, nephews, Kristoffer, Devon, and Avery Vose, and girlfriend, Michael Shumaker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Susan D. Michels, and brother, Daniel R. Michels.
As per David’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or service. Final arrangements have been entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. Inurnment will follow at the Mt. Hermon Church Cemetery.

Dave was a friend to just about anyone he talked to. Such a beautiful soul, he will surely be missed. Condolences to his sisters, nephews, Michael Schumaker and her children and grandchildren.
