Ms. Denise (DeTullio ) Thompson, 64, of Ellwood City passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Denise was born on May 4, 1955 in Ellwood City to the late Fred and Elizabeth M. (DiCola) Detullio. She had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1973 and from Slippery Rock University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. Most recently she has been working for the Borough of Ellwood City in the Electric Department. She was a passionate Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins fan, and a longtime member of the Black & Gold Brigade. For several years she volunteered for the local Meals on Wheels program. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, devoted sister, friend, aunt and great aunt, lover of all animals, an amazing cook, and one of the kindest souls on the planet.
She is survived by her son, RJ (Olivia) Thompson of Stowe, VT, her grandson, Barkley Thompson, her brother, Joe (Judi) DeTullio of Ellwood City, and her former husband, Rick Thompson of Nazareth, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Sandra L. DeTullio.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 14 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm as well as Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11 :00 am at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home in Ellwood City, Pa. Interment will be at the Locust Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lawrence County Humane Society or Ellwood City Meals on Wheels.

Hey DeTullio miss you already. I know we did not see each other often enough since you moved back home. But I just wanted to make sure you know that you were always in my thoughts and heart and you always will be!! What a wonderful person you are.

I was shocked to hear of Denise’s passing.I had not seen her in a while but she was truly just a sweet person. My condolences to her brother, to RJ and Rick, and to all of her friends who love her. God bless and rest in peace Denise.
She was a very lovely person! I and my wife Silvia had a wonderful time with her and Rick DeLoia at the Shakespeare Restaurant July last year, just before we got back to Brasil!
