Mr. Joseph A. Valentino, Sr., 71, of Ellwood City passed away on Tuesday, March 1st, 2022 at the UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle.
Mr. Valentino was born in Beaver Falls on May 19th, 1950 to the late Andrew J. and Helen (Grant) Valentino. Joe graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1968. He is also a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish. Over the years he worked at Allied Auto, Clem’s Sales, NAPA in Beaver Falls and New Castle, and most recently for Hovis Auto Supply as a salesman and store manager. Joe had earned the Life Scout Rank from the Boy Scouts of America, coached and umpired for the Ellwood City Baseball Federation, and sang in the former St. Agatha Church choir and the Ellwood City Area Civic Chorale . An outdoorsman, Joe is a member of the Mahoning Sportsman Club and the Coachmen Club. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn N. “Jackie” (Gillespie) Valentino whom he married on September 28th, 1991, daughter, Lisa Valentino of Rochester, sons, Joseph A. (Shannon) Valentino, Jr. of Glenshaw and James Valentino of Toledo, Ohio, grandchildren, Nicholas Cosmo Lanham, Ava Rae Lanham, Phoebe Valentino, and Mallary Valentino. He is also survived by his sisters, Valarie Valentino of Ellport and Andrea (Dennis) Staul of Hermitage, brother, Andrew (Elaine) Valentino of Ellport, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1-3 pm and 5-8 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at the Holy Redeemer Church with Father Mark Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Joe had such a warm smile and infectious laugh. He was a nice guy! My sympathies to his entire family.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I don’t know if you remember me I was a salesman at Hovis. I was usually with you and Joe at the Tool Show in Erie each year. Strange My wife was in CCU at Jamisom and passed away the Same day as Joe. If you ever need to just talk my phone no is 724-815 – 8600.
