Patricia Ann Tino, 85

Mrs. Patricia Ann “Pat” Tino, also known by all as “Granny” , 85, of Ellwood City and Adelphi, Maryland passed away on Tuesday, July 12th, 2022 following an automobile accident.

Mrs. Tino was born in New Castle on December 23rd, 1936 to the late Joseph and Mary (Prokop) Pavuk. Pat graduated from Lincoln High School with high honors with the class of 1954, and from the New Castle Business School with a secretarial degree. She had worked as a secretary at Kildoo Agency in 1955, Zonolite in 1956, Babcock &Wilcox in Beaver Falls 1957 to 1958, University of Maryland Botany Dept. 1959 to 1962, Cherokee Elementary School as the school secretary 1970 to 1993, and PG County School as a substitute teacher from 1993 to 1998. She treated each student as her own and was in return loved by them.

Pat had resided in Adelphi, MD and maintained vacation homes in Ellwood City and at the Jockey Beach Club in Ocean City, MD. She enjoyed supporting and loving all her grandchildren and was known for slipping them $20.00 bills. She loved to crochet and made afghans for all her neighbors and each family member starting college. She also enjoyed reading, mostly Amish novels on her kindle. Pat was the Pavuk family matriarch and enjoyed the honor of arranging family events.

She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and was active on the class of 54′ reunion committee and looked forward to visiting classmates. While less than 5 feet tall she was a controlling force with her family and was devoted to helping her family have a good life. She looked forward to winter trips to Florida and loved making the trip on the auto-train. Her love for Cardinal birds was well known, she always said the males were her father checking up on us. Now we can look for a pair of cardinals looking out for us.

She is survived by her husband Marshall John Tino, who was her prom date which began a 68 year journey together, son, Dr. Joseph Anthony (Madalene Mizin-Tino) Tino of Lawrenceville, NJ, daughter, Johnna Ann (Gregory) Brown of Winchester, VA, grandchildren, Jonathan Tino, Emily Tino, Madison Brown Lopez, Shelby Brown, and Mary Pat Brown, and great-granddaughter, Ivy Lopez.  She is also survived by her cousins, Jessica Williams, John Wayne, Bill Yanssens, Jim Yanssens, and Marge Choura, and dear friends, Estelle Miller, and Rosina Massaro.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 6-8 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at the Holy Redeemer Church with Father James Wehner officiating. Entombment will follow at the Castleview Memorial Gardens  in New Castle.

Patty will be sorely missed by so many; She and John were high school classmate of mine. We graduated in 1954 and went off to college and lived our separate lives. Many years have passed until, well after we retired, did, we re-connect. John will certainly, woefully and painfully miss her forever! RIP

My sincere condolences. She was the most gracious of ladies and will be truly missed. May God’s Angels hold the family in his loving comfort.
