Katherine “Kathy” S. Carsele, 78

Mrs. Katherine “Kathy” S. Carsele, 78, of Ellport passed away on  Thursday, February 8th, 2024 at the Grove in Harmony.

Mrs. Carsele was born in McKeesport to the late Bernard L. and Edna G. (Dombeck) Kuben on April 8th, 1945. She is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1963 and the Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church. She had worked for the Ellwood City Forge since 1963 at first as a receptionist and later in the quality control department as a certification clerk until she retired in 2015. Kathy also was the Ellwood City Area Local Registrar for the Pennsylvania Department of Health since 1994. She is a member of the Ellwood City Saxons Club and Ellwood City Lions Club where she served as Zone Chairman and on the After Prom Committee. Kathy also was a longtime volunteer for the Ellwood City Meals on Wheels program and enjoyed going to the casinos.

Kathy is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Alice  and Gary Degler of  Vilas, North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Donald Carsele whom she married on May 27th, 1967 and passed away on October 26th, 2000.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 pm until the time of the Blessing Service at 7:00 pm with Deacon Joseph Ross officiating at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc..          Entombment will be at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery, St. Peter’s Mausoleum.
