Nathan R. Amadio, 69, of New Castle passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at his residence.
Nathan was born in Ellwood City on May 31, 1952 to the late Albert and Clementine (Mazzei) Amadio. He had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1971 and the New Castle School of Trades where he studied auto mechanics and electronics. He served briefly with the United States Airforce. At the age of 10 he started his working career cutting grass and shoveling snow. He had worked for the Ellwood City Area School District in the Janitorial Department, Crucible Steel in Midland as the #2 man on the blast furnace, Ellwood City Iron and Wire and the Aetna Standard Engineering Co. both as a fitter and welder. Nat also worked for 23 years for the former Jean’s Flower Shop and Ellwood City Ambulance Service as an EMT. He had memberships with the Ellwood City Lions Club, Ellwood City Auxiliary Police, Workman’s Social Club, and Hungarian Home. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing, camping, and working on cars and electronics.
He is survived by his daughters, Tina (Brian) Lechner and Kim (Raymond) Shacklock, grandchildren, Brooke, Ceri, Jenna, Nicholas, and Michael, great-grandchildren, Julianna and Lima, sisters, Lucille (Ronald) Mitchell, Sr. of Darlington and Elaine (Bruce) Blyth of Ellwood City, and brother, Dominick (Linda) Amadio of Wayne Twp..
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass to honor Nathan’s life which will be held on Friday, September 10th, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Holy Redeemer Church with Father Mark Thomas officiating. The funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc..
